FORT MYERS, Fla. (Aug. 8, 2024) – More after-school kindergarten through second-grade students at the Guadalupe Center will have the supplies they need for success this new school year. Seagate Development Group donated school supplies for three full classrooms in the center’s after-school tutoring program.

“Seagate has long been a supporter of the Guadalupe Center and the work they do to ensure children are successful in school,” said James A. Nulf Jr., president of Seagate Development Group. “We are proud to partner with the nonprofit in this meaningful endeavor and look forward to continuing our partnership in the future.”

Guadalupe Center’s after-school program pairs children with high school student tutors. It reached 760 K-2 students in 2023 – all of them making significant gains in math and reading.

With a strong corporate philosophy of serving the community, teams from Seagate have also recently participated in a beach cleanup for the Fort Myers Beach Women’s Club, raised the walls of a Habitat for Humanity home in North Fort Myers and completed a Sensory Walking Path at Fort Myers Beach Elementary School.

Celebrating 40 years, Guadalupe Center’s mission of breaking the cycle of poverty through education reaches over 1,900 students annually. Its three main programs include early childhood education, after-school tutoring for kindergarten to second-grade students and Tutor Corps, which provides high school students with scholarship assistance and a wage for working children in the after-school classrooms. The center also provides food, clothing and a safe place.
