Matt Price, CEO & Partner of Seagate Development Group, is one of the newest at-large board members of the Horizon Foundation.

The Horizon Foundation is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization that raises money to fund marketing efforts for the Horizon Council. This is the public-private board that advises the Lee County Board of Commissioners and is part of the Lee County Economic Development Office – which assists businesses that need to relocate to or expand in Southwest Florida, improves workforce via educational programs, explores development opportunities, pushes for higher wages and attainable housing, etc.

Horizon Foundation members nominated and then elected Matt from a pool of 11 candidates to represent investors of the Horizon Foundation at the executive level. He will attend monthly executive committee meetings, private events and much more. This volunteer position lasts for one year and can serve as a vehicle to grow into an executive position.

“We work to economically raise the standards of Lee County, and our Horizon Foundation Investors’ support makes it possible,” said Christopher Spiro, president of the Horizon Foundation. “Matt Price is the right person with the right experience whom our investors voted in to represent them at the executive level, because he knows so much about the value behind supporting the Horizon Foundation and the Horizon Council and applies those values to his business every day.”

A licensed general contractor and real estate broker, Matt Price has developed, designed and built over 5 million square feet and has been involved in over $1 billion in real estate transactions in Southwest Florida. The University of Pennsylvania graduate has led many commercial projects that fall under Seagate’s design-build process, which Matt created and continues to expand upon today. He is a member of the advisory board of Truist bank, a member of both the Lee County Business Issues Board and Leadership Florida, and a real estate leader for Gridiron Greats.

“I live in and conduct a lot of business in Lee County, so serving the Horizon Foundation’s support for the Horizon Council is important to me, personally and professionally,” Matt said. “I thank my fellow business leaders for their trust in my ability to help. Together, we’re going to bring this wonderful area of Southwest Florida to the next and best level.”
