Seagate Development Group and DeAngelis Diamond team up as a talented duo to break ground on brand-new NeoGenomics’ International HQ facility

Seagate Development Group and DeAngelis Diamond have broken ground on the construction of NeoGenomics’ new global headquarters, located just west of Interstate 75 and north of Alico Road along Three Oaks Parkway in Fort Myers. Seagate Development Group is the developer, construction manager and site contractor for the $60 million state-of-the-art facility, while DeAngelis Diamond was chosen as the General Contractor for the project.

The Seagate Development Group and DeAngelis Diamond partnership was part of a bigger goal of putting together a talented local team to bring the client’s vision to life. “Like Seagate, NeoGenomics wants to be a part of building local economies and offering additional employment opportunities,” stated CEO and Partner of Seagate Development Group, Matt Price. “When they stated they wanted to build a local team of experts for this project we were honored to join the team working alongside DeAngelis Diamond,” said Price.

DeAngelis Diamond first pushed dirt on May 11, 2020 and began onsite work to install the footers the week of May 13th. On June 4, 2020 DeAngelis Diamond began construction of the walls of the buildings. The new headquarters will comprise two buildings totaling approximately 150,000 square feet. One building, consisting of 75,000 square feet, will be the main working space for the corporate offices, spread out over three stories. The secondary building, an additional 75,000 square feet, will be utilized as a laboratory for the onsite physicians and technicians. The laboratory portion of the project will consist of wet and dry labs of varying levels as well as a molecular lab. This lab will provide a comprehensive array of high-complexity testing and lab services, including immunohistochemistry, molecular, next generation sequencing, flow cytometry, FISH, and cytogenetics.

“We couldn’t be more honored to have our innovative construction team selected to be part of another NeoGenomics’ project, alongside the construction management team of experts at Seagate Development Group,” stated David Diamond, Co-Founder, DeAngelis Diamond. “Constructing the NeoGenomics’ International HQ project will not only have an immediate and positive impact on the local economic community, but we become part of helping NeoGenomics realize their vision of saving lives globally by improving patient care in new innovative ways,” said Diamond.

Construction is underway with the foundation and shell of the first floor complete. Additionally, the foundation is in place for the laboratory, in preparation to begin vertical structures. This new facility is classified as a Class A office building which will include an executive wing, cafeteria, indoor and outdoor dining and a courtyard in between the two buildings. The project is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2021.

“When we decided to build a large state-of-the-art laboratory and new global headquarters’ building in Southwest Florida, one of our objectives was to contribute to economic development in our community by partnering with local companies and organizations,” said Douglas M. VanOort, Chairman and CEO of NeoGenomics. “As we pursue these objectives, growing our company and our community, we are excited to work with great partners such as Seagate Development Group and DeAngelis Diamond. We’re grateful for our partnership and look forward to the completion of our new facility,” said VanOort.
